Maumere
Maumere is main gate for tourism in east part of Flores. Maumere is a capital city of Sikka regency and it's a quite place for relax and enjoyed. Most of traveler started their journey from here to the west part of Flores but unfortunetly almost of them didn't spend thier several time in this place and most of them centered at the west part of Flores. In this chance i want to share the general information about Maumere to make easy for the travelers who wants take a tour in Flores and decide tourist destination especially in Maumere.
Snorkeling spot.
There are several snorkeling spot at the north of Maumere bay, you can spend one day boat trip and normaly the spots around Pangabatang island and Babi island. You can enjoyed with white sands beach and make grilled fishes at Pangabatang island.
Trecking Spot.
Ussually for this activity took at the Egon Volcano. Its one of active volcano in Sikka regency. Normaly you can spend 2 hours to get the top of volcano.
Blidit Natural Hot Spring
It's located at the foot of Egon volcano, you can get there 1 hours by walk at the forest.
Tanjung Kajuwulu
it's located at the west part of Maumere town. You can enjoyed the panorama of Kajuwulu cape from the hill.
Wuring Fishing Village
Wuring famous with traditional stilt houses. Most of them are native from Bajo ethnic so that why the majority of them are fisherman.
Sikka old Church
This historical site as a symbol Portugese influenced in the past, it's located at the south part of Maumere town exactly at the Sikka village itself. This builded used portugese constraction and never renovated until today.
Murusobe Twin waterfalls
For who wants to find the new adventure, this place presented with the beautiful forest panorama surruonding.
Koka beach
Its famous with the beautiful panorama. You can sunbath, relax and enjoyed at the white sands beach.
